The proceeds from this event will support the establishment of SER's new Precision Medicine Unit for Molecular and Genetic Research and Intervention, a historic initiative that will mark a turning point for our institution and for Puerto Rico.

SER's Precision Medicine Unit — Molecular and Genetic Research and Intervention — would be led by Dr. Alberto Santiago Cornier, a pioneering geneticist of worldwide recognition with more than 30 years of outstanding work, results and publications.
For many years, rehabilitation medicine has held an essential mission: helping a person recover function, independence and a self-sufficient life. Today, science allows us to look deeper.
Molecular medicine helps us understand what happens inside the body: in the genes, in the cells, in the signals that explain why a condition manifests differently in each person. And when that knowledge guides clinical decisions, precision medicine is born: a medicine that looks not only at diagnoses, but at how to treat each person better.
Establishing a Molecular and Precision Medicine Research Unit represents far more than a scientific advance. It is the opportunity to study, document and transform SER's clinical experience into knowledge; into evidence; into answers born from the genetic and genomic data of Puerto Ricans, enabling faster health and intervention decisions in both pediatrics and adults.
That is SER's vision for the future: rehabilitation driven by science, guided by precision and sustained by research, deeply committed to the dignity of every life. Because when we understand better, we can care better.

In support of “The Precision Code — Gustavo Arango 2027 Spring Collection”, an evening to raise funds for SER's Precision Medicine Unit, my company commits to the following sponsorship.
The Society for Education and Rehabilitation (SER) of Puerto Rico, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that for more than 76 years has provided rehabilitation services to people with disabilities — mostly children — so they can develop their fullest potential. Through its interdisciplinary intervention model, 85% of participants, including those with autism, acquire functional skills that promote greater independence. With centers in San Juan, Ponce and Ceiba, SER was proclaimed a National Heritage of Puerto Rico, the first service organization to receive such a distinction.
To provide exceptional medical, therapeutic and educational services to people with disabilities so they may reach their fullest potential.
More than 60% of SER's participants are children; most come from low-income households, where financial limitations and insurance restrictions make access to essential services and equipment difficult. In many cases, SER is the only alternative for specialized care that improves their functionality, safety and quality of life.
A robust interdisciplinary team: subspecialized physicians, adult and pediatric psychologists, social workers, physiatrists, neurologists, therapists, geneticists and educators. Many of these subspecialists are scarce in Puerto Rico and trained locally and in the United States. All of it is complemented by the latest therapeutic robotic technology, mostly imported from Europe.
SER directs 93% of its resources straight to services and advocacy. It is exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the federal Internal Revenue Code and fully exempt under Section 1101 of the Puerto Rico Internal Revenue Code. Your contribution supports rehabilitation, medical and educational services for children and adults with physical disabilities and autism, and meets the charitable-donation requirements established for residents under Act 60.
